Expertise & Experience

The DeNovo team is proud to have established itself as an industry leader in the liability transfer and management of environmentally impaired properties and facilities. We have recently expanded our business into remedial construction contracting to capitalize on our team's extensive experience and expertise in such projects. Our recent and past successes are due in large part to the broad range and depth of experience our professionals bring to bear in each project. Our staff includes project managers, safety specialists, field technicians, and remedial experts all of whom have decades of experience. This superior level of service will be brought to bear on each project site to ensure the most cost-effective and safe remedial solution is implemented at each project. Highlights of the team's expertise includes the following:

  • Demolition and Decontamination - Performed equipment salvage, dismantlement, decontamination, building demolition, and site remediation services at a 35-acre manufacturing facility.
  • Refinery Remediation - Remediation and construction services for this multitask project included RCRA corrective action management unit (CAMU) construction, underground piping removal, coke fines remediation, hazardous soil remediation, and stream restoration.
  • Soil Removal - Removal of lead-contaminated soil at residential locations including excavation, materials handling, transportation of waste materials, backfilling and complete site restoration of all areas where contaminated soil was removed.
  • Capping/Soil Cover - Construction of a multi-layered landfill cap consisting of a soil cushion, HDPE primary cover, sand drainage layer, root zone, and vegetative layer.
  • Stream Sediment Removal - Excavation, staging, and load-out of PCB contaminated river sediments. The work required river flow diversion, temporary cofferdams, dewatering, collection and on-site treatment of contact waters, and wetlands restoration.
  • Superfund Site Drum Removal - Over 25,000 drums of hazardous waste were removed from an abandoned landfill. This project also involved extensive material processing and disposal activities.
  • Soil Excavation and Transportation - Site soils were contaminated with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), particularly trichloroethene (TCE), and required excavation and removal, transportation and treatment of contact waters.
  • Mine Closure - Excavation and consolidation of low-level radiation contaminated soil. Included were a low permeable soil lining of a landfill and a multi-layer soil and armor rock cap.
  • Soil Stabilization - Provided in-situ stabilization (ISS) at a Superfund site. This project was a new Brownfield redevelopment initiative and was surrounded by upscale residential neighborhoods.
